Some unidentified gunmen on Sunday laid siege at a football match played in Zunuruk village of Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, which is the Christian part of the State, while the Northern part is predominantly occupied by muslims, due to religious crisis that has occurred in the past, they killed four spectators while four others were injured.
Reports gathered reveal that, the attackers struck on Sunday evening, shot sporadically at the crowd of spectators. while a football match was being played.
An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, said the attackers came from a nearby bush while the friendly football match was in full swing, amidst cheering, and shot sporadically at the unsuspecting spectators, killing four on the spot, and leaving others with gunshot wounds.
“The development brought the football match to an end as the spectators ran for their lives.” He said
The witness further said residents of Tsonje village woke up early Monday morning to discover the dead body of one of the residents of the area who died of gunshots.
The victim identified as Dogara Kazzah, who was a christian before his abrupt and brutal demise, was said to have gone to ease himself in the bush the previous night around 8 pm but never returned only to be discovered dead as a result of gunshots received from unidentified gunmen while in the bush.
