Despite being one of the most famous influencers in the world, Kim Kardashian has revealed she’s taking a step back from social media to prioritize.
Speaking to New York Magazine, the 39-year-old mother-of-four shared that as she’s now involved in politics, she doesn’t want to reveal as much of herself to the world – literally and figuratively – and will be making an effort to post less.
“I think I’m evolving to where I don’t feel the need to want to keep up,” she said. “Not that I did it to feel like I had to keep up, but I guess I just don’t care as much anymore to want to take tons of photos in a thong bikini. I actually just want to lay out.”
“I don’t care to take the time out of my day on vacation like I used to, where I’d pull up to the house and I’d see, ‘This is a setup. This is an Instagram pic. Now this is a different setup. Oh, this place has so many different setups. This is going to be amazing,’” she added. “Now I’m just like, ‘Let’s actually live in real time and enjoy it. If we happen to get a photo, great.’”
This new outlook is also informing her decision to dress more modestly too.
“I realised I could not even scroll through Instagram in front of my kids without full nudity coming up on my feed pretty much all the time. And I definitely contributed to that. I mean, one of my most iconic covers was the Paper magazine one, when I was all oiled up and ripping my dress off,” she shared.
Kim Kardashian said that next year she wants to revise her image and start dressing more modestly. “I woke up a little. I realized I could not even scroll through Instagram in front of my kids without full nudity coming up on my feed pretty much all the time. And I definitely contributed to that”, she shared.
And although Kanye is being credited/blamed for Kim’s decision to dress more modestly, US President Donald Trump has been a bigger influence.
“I also did think, like, ‘Okay, I’m here in the White House and then the next day I was posting, like, a crazy bikini selfie. And I was thinking, ‘I hope they don’t see this. I have to go back there next week.’”
It should be noted that Mrs. West has already taken a big step in this direction. Recently, she starred for the cover of New York Magazine in a long black dress – only her silhouette is visible in the photo. She compared this shot with her photo shoot for Paper Magazinein the winter of 2014.
This is a famous shoot, for which the model poses almost naked, with a bottle of champagne in her hands. Kim Kardashian said that she needs to rethink the fact, that many people treat her only as a sex symbol, not paying attention to her personality.
Kim is developing her cosmetics line and an underwear brand. In addition, she helps many charitable foundations and plans to get a law degree.
The young woman says that she began to devote less time to getting some kind of trendy things, for example, jewelry, bags and cars, and she aims to maintain family and business.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, Kim Kardashian announced that she would be dressing modestly by 2020 as she is more involved in family and her career as a lawyer. While fans may have been used to seeing bikini shots and revealing dresses, Kim K is having a fashion evolution.
“I definitely see the things that I brought on myself, the biggest being the robbery. Just being flashy and oversharing my every move on social media. But I enjoy my life. Someone said to me the other day, ‘What is it like being you?’ It’s awesome.” She shared.
These days, Kim is less focused on keeping up with the latest and greatest items. Instead, her priority is balancing family and businesses she cares about and becoming a lawyer. According to the law student, being robbed in Paris shifted her mindset that led to her desire to focus on what mattered most.
“I truly think once I got robbed it took something out of me in the best way. All the things that really mattered to me then deeply—how many bags I had, what car I drove…I still like all that stuff, but it doesn’t matter. It could go away,” she shared. “For so long, people have tried to partner me with things.
But this was the first thing where I thought, You know what? I want to go to law school. I want to help people.” Kim continued, “Let me work for the next ten years and build up my brands, and then one day, in ten years, just give up being Kim K. and become a lawyer. And now I’ve realized what I care about. No publicist would have ever told me to get into prison reform.”
Kim has been focused on her newly placed priorities of family, business, politics and law school.
