No fewer than ten traditional rulers in Osun State attended the end of year praise and worship event at Lifters of Holy Hands, Awesome God, 2019. The event with the theme: ‘My Heart is Fixed, O God, My Heart is Fixed’ was held at the Aurora Conference Centre in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
Among the traditional rulers were the Alakola of Akola-Ijesa, Oba Festus Adekunle Adeyemi, the Oludo of Ido-Ijesa, Oba Michael Adebayo Adeyemi, the Ologbon of Ilu Ogbon-Ijesa, Oba Michael Adeleye Oyejide, the Oniberekodo of Iberekodo-Ijesa, Oba Babalude Aluko, the Odofin of Akola, the Olu-Saga-Ife, Oba Even Oladejo, Chief Adeniyi Adewole, and the Aare Atunluse of Akola-Ijesa, Chief Majakodunmi Abidemi.
In her welcome speech, the Visioner and Convener of Awesome God, Mrs. Funmi Abokede, said the programme had started since 2014, was designed to praise God for his mercies over the years.
The General Overseer of the Glory Land International Christian Centre, Osogbo, Bishop Dola Adeoye Salako, in his sermon, described the enthusiasm and participation of the traditional rulers in the programme as awesome. The cleric, who said when one’s heart is fixed on God it will be easy to praise Him, maintained that the only way to excel in life is to connect with God.
He, therefore, said that the earthly kings that recognise God’s supremacy and praise Him will receive His grace and enjoy the kind of connection King David in the Bible had with God, adding that they will also have long life, joy and peace in their domains.
