The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of surrounding himself with criminals and hooligans.
The controversial Catholic priest disclosed this during his Sunday ministration.
Mbaka, while delivering a message titled, ‘Impure Heart’, at the 2020 All Saints Day Holy Mass, stated that pure heart begets pure spirit while impure heart begets evil spirit.
Rev Mbaka asked Buhari to apologise to the country, especially the youth, on behalf of himself and his predecessors, who had also caused Nigerians so much pain.
Mbaka accused security men in Enugu State of killing and dumping several bodies of some #EndSARS protesters into Onyeama Valley.
He alleged that many youth were being detained in various correctional centres across the state and the country, declaring that it was rather the Nigerian leaders that should be in those correctional centres.
Mbaka warned that the detention and extrajudicial killing of pro-Biafra agitators should cease forthwith, saying, “They should not touch any of those Biafra boys o!”
Clarifying that his message was not targeted at any particular government or individual but bad governance in general, Mbaka added, “This is not about #EndSARS or IPOB. Nobody is fighting any government; we are fighting bad governance.
“Few days ago, at Miliken Hill, after New Market, (in Enugu), people discovered corpses of those that were shot and killed during the recent protest. They dumped people’s corpses there while families of those young men and women continued searching for them.” He said.
He further stated: “That is why I am telling you that Nigeria can never be the same again. Did you expect these young men to keep watching the country being swindled and looted dry by the so-called leaders?
“Buhari, who could have been a solution to this, succeeded in encircling himself with criminals and hooligans. People, who do not just tell him lies but rather, they magnify lies; lies with NAFDAC number – and feed him.”
Fr. Mbaka’s accusation could not be far fetched, as the nation suffered a major security setback during the ‘#ENDSARS’ protests. Various government and police vehicles were captured on camera by various individuals in various parts of the country, dropping off armed thugs to disrupt these peaceful protests.
But the highpoint came when the Nigerian Army opened fire on unarmed peaceful protesters holding the national flag and singing the National Anthem at the Lekki Toll gate in Lagos State on 20th October, 2020.
This act of peaceful protesters gunned down by the Army at the Lekki Toll gate, had a negative ripple effect, as it spiralled into hoodlums burning down business buildings, Television stations and vehicles. Warehouses that housed hoarded palliatives meant for distribution during the COVID-19 period were also plundered.
Other states including Plateau state, Abia state, Rivers state, Benin City, among others joined in the peaceful protest which also recorded a high number of casualties.
The President and Vice President’s loud silence for over two days from the day of the Toll gate Massacre received national and international tongue lash which eventually led to a perceived half hearted speech by the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo and the president himself.
Father Mbaka insists the state of the nation is a far cry from good governance and leaves the blame at the corridors of the Buhari led administration.
